Bisexual
Featured Links | Bisexual.org - http://www.bisexual.org Though apparently run by a nonprofit, this site has a very commercial feel - it seems to be primarily a dating site, with connections to a couple of porn sites. But it does also have a (very small) articles section (very small as in only two articles, when I last checked), plus discussion forums and a reasonably decent resources section. They also put out BiMagazine, which I've listed separately as it's a separate site with a very different feel. |
Bisexual Resource Center - http://www.biresource.org/ Web site of an international non-profit organization dedicating to educating people about bisexual issues. The main page of the site is a news listing, in a blog format, but there's also a very extensive resource directory with hundreds of bi-related links.
Bisexual.com - http://www.bisexual.com Probably the biggest online community for bisexuals, with articles, discussion forums, personal ads, live chat, and more. Rather annoyingly, you have to register in order to access most of the content, and the registration process seems to assume that you're looking to place personal ads, requiring you to indicate whether you're a single or couple, for example. No way of indicating if you're in something like a poly triad, either. However, it's otherwise a good site.
Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA) - http://www.add.org/ Web site of the world's largest adult ADD organization. The site features a wide variety of informative aricles, a directory of professionals who treat adults with ADD, and other resources.
Girlfriends - http://www.gfriends.com/ Highlights from the current issue, discussion forums, and online subscriptions and back issue ordering.
Holy Titclamps - http://www.holytitclamps.com/ "Nothing should be assumed about anybody's sexuality, including yours." One of the longest-standing "homocore" zines. This site includes full copies of most of the early, out-of-print issues of the zine, as well as online versions of editor Larry-Bob's other ventures, Queer Zine Explosion and Queer Music Explosion.
Cuir Underground - http://www.black-rose.com/cuiru.html A San Francisco-based magazine for "the pansexual kink communities", formerly based on a hardcopy magazine, but now completely online. Features book, film and music reviews; weekly BDSM and censorship news; a calendar of events; and articles on everything from stripper burnout to non-monogamy to SM sex magic in Satanism.
Blowfish - http://www.blowfish.com/ A fun, irreverent, queer-positive online sex shop based in the US.
BiMagazine - http://www.bimagazine.org/ An online bisexual magazine with a lot of interesting articles and a very international focus, with a number of articles on the status of bisexuals in different parts of the world. Also includes poetry, visual arts and music coverage, though some of these sections still seem to be pretty sparse. The majority of the content is under non-fiction.
Toronto Bisexual Network - http://www.torontobinet.org/ This is Toronto's main bi organization, though it also includes two gender-specific subgroups, Bisexual Women of Toronto (BIWOT) and Bisexual Men of Toronto (BIMOT), listed separately. The TBN site includes a local events calendar, a timeline of bi community development in Toronto, a listing of bi resources (books and web sites), and more.
QWorld - http://www.qworld.org A queer portal site with discussion boards, chat rooms, an art gallery, special sections for lesbians and transsexuals, and a queer search engine called PrideLinks.
GenderWeb - http://www.genderweb.org/ Articles, discussion forums, mailing lists, and other resources by, for or about transsexuals. I especially liked "20 Things You DON'T Say to a Transsexual" ("DON'T #18 - 'Well, I want you to know I respect your choices.' And I yours, particularly in transcendent matters, such as whether to register your pattern at Bloomingdale's or Saks, or whether a bright, robust yet tart, Almanden can properly accompany sushi.")
Good For Her - http://www.goodforher.com/ We think this is a fabulous site, but we may be a little biased because we designed it. :-) Good For Her is a women-oriented sex shop in Toronto, offering online and in-person shopping, plus workshops, an online sex advice column, and more. You can even review and rate the products in the online store!
The CR FAQ - http://www.paganachd.com/faq/ A comprehensive FAQ on Celtic Reconstructionism, compiled by a diverse group of long-time practitioners via the <a href="http://community.livejournal.com/cr_r/">CR_R Livejournal community</a>. Highly recommended
Gender and Transgender Theory - http://www.bcholmes.org/tg/ A site by the very fascinating B.C. Holmes, with insightful articles on the relationship between gender and spiritualty, postmodernism, and many other things.
Counting Past Two - http://www.countingpast2.com Web site of an annual transsexual/transgender cultural festival in Toronto. And beautifully designed, if we don't say so ourselves! ;-)
